Draper Temple Dedication

My family was privileged to attend the first session of the dedication of the Draper Temple. We got inside and waited for the session to begin. There were about 50 people in the same room as us, many from our ward. All of the sudden people started standing up. Boyd K. Packer had walked into the room with his cute wife. About half an hour later people started standing up again as President Monson, Henry B. Eyring, Boyd K. Packer walked into the room. It was so cool we were only like 5 feet away from them. The dedication was amazing and the spirit was so strong.

Relationship Advice from a 2nd Grader

Every Tuesday I go to this elementary school and help kids read and do some homework. Today I was working with this little kid named Rafael. Well all of the sudden he goes "Are you married?" pointing to my CTR ring. I told him I wasn't and we got back to work. About a half hour later the following conversation took place. . .
Rafael: Do you have a boyfriend
me: Yes
Rafael: Does he have a ring?
me: No
Rafael: Well you should get him one
So I guess I was supposed to know that I needed to give him a ring cause its the new thing. . . Fortunately I was informed by this little 2ND grader.

Basketball Guy

Every day Shantel and I try to go running down in the club house. Well today when we got down there this kid was lifting weights and had the t.v. on to some basketball game. After 5-10 minutes he smiled at us, said hi and then left. So of course I didn't want to watch the game so I jumped off of my treadmill and changed the channel. I turned to go back and somehow the guy came back without me hearing him. He gave me this evil look like how dare I change the channel. . . feeling stupid and a little stubborn I didn't change it back. . . he left like 5 minutes later. The whole time Shantel was trying not to laugh.

Dad's Birthday

My dad and his identical twin turned 50 on Friday the 13TH. My mom and I went to Smith's and got a really yummy cake on sale!

Stupidity

This past weekend I went home to celebrate my dad's birthday. Having only gotten 4 hours of sleep the night before I was so tired by 11:00pm and didn't even want to try to drive back to Provo. I crawled into my bed in my old room and fell asleep. My family has church at 9 and I woke up 15 minutes past then. Stumbling my way to the kitchen I was right by the front door when all of the sudden the house alarm system went off. That woke me up and I started freaking out, I was home alone and there was somebody in my house. I turned off the alarm and then being stupid went searching for the intruder. Finding nobody I then realized why the alarm went off. My parents probably thought I had left and turned on the away setting. There is a motion detector by the front door which I triggered. . . . yeah I felt pretty smart.

Fireproof

Shantel and I love fireproof and watch it all of the time!! The cheesy acting and all! We decided that every guy MUST watch this movie!!

Old Memories

My dad's birthday was on the 13Th however, we celebrated it on the 14Th. Sarah Furniss came down and was there to help celebrate. Before the party began my parents went to the Durrant's open house. That got Sarah and I talking about old crushes . . . Then all of the sudden my dad looks at me and goes "Camille, it was just yesterday that I went to your 6Th grade dance party. I knew you liked Josh Durrant so I told him to go over and dance with you." Now at the time I had no idea this happened, so when he came up to me and asked me to dance I was ecstatic! Then later that night my dad told me what happened. I was so embarrassed and upset. Poor dad, thought he was helping........should have kept his good deeds a secret.

The Group is Back!!

On Friday the 13Th Sydney came down from USU to visit with Shantel and I. We toured campus, got Subway, watched Blake's football game, played games, and talked. We even scared some people by lounging all over the floor talking. It was just like the good old days. . . with the exception of Brittany. Surprisingly there were was no toilet paper, doorbell ditching, and other fun mischievous acts involved that night. Although Shantel had a wonderful time being hyper. :)

Dad and His Projects

So my dad loves doing home improvement projects. Every weekend he makes his routine trip to the Home Depot and gets to work. Today he got his dad's old cement mixer to make a pad by the side of the house for a generator. It was a huge event, Uncle Wade and Aunt Lynette even came over to watch. Lynette made us all spit in the mixer to honor our grandpa.
