I Am a Clutz

There is one fact about me that people are always shocked to hear. I am a terrible clutz! I have gotten to the point that if I don't have at least one embarrassing thing happen to me a day. . . I start to get worried. For example

1. In high school I was walking across the parking lot and ran into a tree.
2. I was in the kitchen talking to Shantel when I knocked the clock off the wall. . . breaking it
3. In high school I would trip over nothing. . . sometimes that still happens
4. I always run into door knobs. I will be walking through an open door and hit my arm on the knob
5. I cut myself on a thumb tack. . . but not the sharp part.
6. I was making Kool-Aid and ended up in the E.R. getting stitches
7. I drop a lot of stuff!
8. I was closing the sliding door of a van when I slipped on the ice and landed on my back.
9. I went up in front of the class to collect a paper and turned around and walked into a desk
10. I was on the bus and it was so crowded so I was standing up. The bus driver slammed on the brakes and I almost fell into some random guys lap.

Yet somehow despite being a clutz I managed to survive
1. never breaking a bone
2. never falling down the stairs at school

I am very proud of these two facts .

Love, Hate

CHANGE! It is a part of life and we all have to experience it. I hate not being in control of things. However, I love the change that I can control. Like . . .
*Deciding to change my hair (cut or color)
*Getting organized
*Painting my nails
Although these are some pretty silly things that I can change there is one that is a little crazy. When I start to have trouble sleeping I know that I have to rearrange my room. I know its weird but it works. This last two weeks I could not fall asleep even if I was exhausted. I then started planning my new room. Well I moved it and now I can fall asleep in seconds. But the whole reason I'm saying this is because when I got on my blog I JUST HAD TO change my background. Ugh I know it is annoying (and why it is different every month or so) but I love change!

The Broken Spears

Now we all know that Cortes came to the Americas and conquered the natives. What I didn't know is that there are surviving accounts of the natives side of the story.

For my History 202 class, I have to read those accounts in The Broken Spears book. It is rather interesting. . . but what made me really laugh was this. . .

"Our warriors rallied to defend the city. Their spirits and courage were high; not one of them showed any fear or behaved like a woman." (emphasis added)

Despite all the things I should probably be getting out of this book. . .this is what I have learned. . .

no matter the country, culture, or year, women will always be/act like women and that men will always think we are silly creatures. :) hehehe

Ice Skating

Remember all this films you watched in middle school and high school of wild animals? Specifically those baby giraffes that learn to walk right after they are born. How they stumble and wobble all over the place? Well I know how they feel. I got invited to go ice skating. . .
I'm not really good at ice skating, but I still went. I felt like a newborn giraffe in skates. I could feel all the other skate marks in the ice. It really threw me off. I am pleased to say that I did not fall down once the whole time. Shayna and Dallen were nice to skate by me at first. I soon felt more stable and was ready to be on my own.

However, there is a sad part to my story. The top of the boot kept rubbing against my leg. Ugh! I could feel it and I tried to pull up my sock . . . no such luck. Finally, I could stand it no longer and had to take off my skates. It was still a fun night though.

AH! My Hair!

Yesterday while I was getting ready for church. . . three things happend:

1. My hair started to let off a large cloud (of what I thought was steam) when I ran my straightener through.

2. After that I saw something "clumpy" in my hair

3. I could smell something burning . . .

Yes my hair was burnt. It fell out in huge clumps. It is now a strange orange-ish color. Of course it is right by my face so I can't hide it. I still don't know why that happened.
