Thaifoon

Today for lunch my dad, Brett (a co-worker), and I went out to the Gateway for lunch. We decided to go to Thaifoon. The place was amazing! The food was so so so good.
Before we went to lunch we stopped at the Applestore where Brett and my dad bought cases and plastic covers for their new 3G iPhones. We sat down ordered and while we were waiting for our food they pulled out their new toys. They both had the biggest grins on their faces. Brett found this compass application and they both started playing with it. To activate the compass you had to wave the phone in a figure 8. They both sat there waving their phones. I just laughed, those two full grown men were just excited little boys. Then there was me a 19 year old acting more grown up then them. I guess boys really do never fully grow up.

My Second Day On The Job

Today has been my second full day of work. Sitting at a desk and staring at a computer screen full of numbers doesn't sound too bad. Yet sitting there I realized several things. . .
1. I am so not cut out to do this for the rest of my life (All I seem to do is sit at that desk by the time I come home I am so exhausted I just want to fall asleep. Then it starts all over again!)
2. I am so glad that I am a girl and will get to be a mom instead of having a career
3. I know why people get fat when they have desk jobs (Sitting there I could feel myself gaining weight)
Not all of it has been too bad. I get to go to work with my dad! That means the 40 minute car ride up and back and an hour for lunch he is all mine!

Socks!

I love socks! They are the greatest things ever! Today at Costco I bought these ones. When Amber saw them at home she goes "now I can't wait for you to grow out of these so I can have them" Haha poor kid. Life is tough when you are the youngest of four girls.

Wal-mart

Wal-mart can be a really cool place. Lots of cheap stuff! However, there can be annoying people, weird workers, and random things. Amanda wanted some guy sweat pants and this is what we found.
Extra Extra Extra Large

None of us have ever seen pants that big. We thought it was pretty funny.

The Men

Scott loves to help dad out while he works around the house. Today's project was putting in some new wood floor.
Not only did he get to spend time with his dad and help out, but Scott got to play with a hammer! The floor turned out very nice. Of course all the girls were relieved to have it done too. All the hammering, air compressor, and nail gun noises were too much to take after awhile.

What Happens When You Don't Brush Your Hair For 8 Months

Amber has extremely curly hair. Unfortunately it loves to tangle and she doesn't like to spend time brushing it. For the last couple of months my mom has begged me to detangle it. Since I'm done with school for the summer and was very bored today, I decided to take on this challenge. We started out pretty good. Amber was playing on the computer while I sat behind her. She has a very sensitive head and was brave for me.
Starting out

All the hair that was lost

The final result after 5 hours and5 minutes of brushing, being bitten, and being cried on

Yeah Amber! She has very gorgeous hair! I didn't even know that it was that long!

Softlips

I walked into the computer room and saw some Softlips Chapstick. I love the stuff so I started putting it on. Miriam looks over and goes "I wouldn't use that if I were you". I must have had a confused look on my face. She then goes "that is my friend Mikey's chapstick". Mikey is a guy and was at my house the night before for Miriam's party. Yuck! Maybe I shouldn't be going around using random chapstick anymore.

Fed Ex Man Stole My Book Money

So today I tried to sell my books back to the book store. For Dante's Divine Comedy I paid $13.50 and I got back $1.75. For my world history book I paid $14.25 and got back $11.00. They wouldn't take back my other two books. In short I feel completely ripped off. To make matters worse I was walking from the bus stop back to my apartment when several things happened. 1. I was talking on the phone to my mom. 2. A Fed Ex truck pulled up very noisily right in front of the stairs to my apartment. 3. I was getting my keys out of my pocket. While numbers 1 and 2 were happening distracting me from number 3 my book money which was in the same pocket as my keys. . . fell out (at the bottom of the stairs). Being distracted by numbers 1 and 2 I totally didn't notice. I got back to my apartment pulled the coins out of my pocket when I noticed my 12 bucks was missing. I race downstairs the Fed Ex guy who delivered a package across the hall was gone. I'm totally convinced (after searching forever) that he found my money and decided to run away. So basically I only got 75 cents back from books this year. :( dang you Fed-Ex

Knowing

Amber, Miriam and I went to see Knowing last night. The preview looked so so good! This synopsis of the movie is actually pretty good but very long http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0448011/synopsis My favorite part was the ending. . . . The whisper people are revealed to be celestial angel-like beings who invite the children to escape the destruction "to help everyone start over". At first, Caleb is very reluctant to go when his father is not invited to come along; John successfully persuades him to go, saying that they will be together again eventually. The whisper people leave Earth on their ship, a massive structure resembling Ezekiel's Wheel, as other ships also depart Earth. As anarchy reigns in New York City and Boston John arrives to be with his parents and sister just as the solar flare strikes Earth and incinerates all life on the planet. Caleb and Abby are dropped off on an Earth-like planet with at least two moons. The movie ends as the two children, dressed in white, run toward a large white tree, possibly being the fabled Tree of Life. These are the angel celestial people
Miriam and I walked out of the movie laughing our heads off. It was the worst movie I have ever seen! Unless you want a good laugh do not see this movie!

Stake BBQ, Carnival, and Dance

My singles ward was invited to the stake activity on Friday. Shantel, Kleresa, Tasi, Shayna, Ashley, Keith and I got in the car. We made it right before the prayer. After the amen two guys turned around and started flirting with Shantel. They left awhile later to get food. After we got food and sat down on a brown plastic picnic table the same guys come back. Their friend in a red polo sat down by me. I had just opened my can of root beer and was talking when BAM! The kid on my left slammed his hands down on the table which caused the root beer to spill all over my lap. (Luckily I changed out of my white shorts). Shantel screamed and then we all started laughing. I was so sticky! I had root beer all over my jeans and in my shoes. Shantel had some all over and in her purse. I asked the guy to get some napkins and he never said sorry! After was pretty fun I was winning arm wrestling but lost to Shantel. There was cotton candy, popcorn, a dunking booth, and musical chairs. Besides being sticky it was a pretty fun night.

I Won A Date

For our singles ward activity this week we were told the time and location, that's it. The girls across the hall and I showed up and yes it was a dating activity. Shantel claims that she knew what it was and didn't tell me cause she knew I wouldn't go. Three guys and three girls previously selected would come up and had to answer a "would you rather question". If a guy was up all the girls would stand up and try to get the same answer as the person. The last person standing would win the date, gift cards included. I tried really hard to get out and it worked until the second guy. Dallen got up and was asked a lot of questions. One question "would you rather never speak again or have to always say what is on your mind?" Well I knew Dallen and he was a pretty social guy so I picked always say what is on your mind. I was the only one to pick that. Dallen revealed his answer and I won the date. I wish I had a picture of the look on my face. I was shocked and also debating to make a run for it. Kleresa pushed me up to the front where I got a hug and a gift card......

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Today it has been raining like crazy! Actually this whole week its been pouring. Today just seemed to be the worst. It started out as a normal day. I was going to my art class and had to catch the bus. I got a feeling to grab my umbrella. . . but of course I didn't listen. Standing at the stop shivering I could feel the water climbing up my jeans, into my socks/shoes, and through my jacket. Out of all my lazy days of not doing my hair. . . I just had to straighten my hair today. The bus was late and by the time I got on I was soaked! I got off the bus and hurried to class. The rain was really coming down. By the time I sat down my jacket was completely soaked and my shirt was wet too. :( I grabbed my stuff out of my bag and my artwork was all wet too! I ran into the bathroom to see what happened to my hair. . . yeah totally frizzy and starting to curl. Ugh! Luckily my day got better. The teacher let us go two hours early and by that time the rain had stopped. The way super nice bus driver Mario (I don't know his name but he looks like Mario, mustache and all) pulled up to my stop and it looked like this: Completely flooded!
Mario took one look at the road and in his Italian accent was like "I am going to drive you to a dry spot. I am not going to let you go swimming." I just wanted to hug him. I guess if I had to walk through this it wouldn't matter because I was still wet. Anyways hurray for Mario!

Two Temples, One Day

The Oquirrh Mountain Temple! Dad, Mom, Clint, Amanda, Grant, Scott and I were able to go to the open house. It is so so so pretty!

This is a great picture....too bad this weird lady just had to be in it.

Afterwards Dad and I got to go to the Salt Lake Temple to do baptisms with Grant for his first time. This is the lovely weather going into the temple.

The rain really started coming down after we got outside. But it still looks great!
