My Crazy Day

Today has been one weird day. First off it started really bad. I went to bed late, woke up late and was scrambling to get ready. The whole morning I think my feet/balance was off. I tripped twice over nothing in my room, and once walking out the door. I get to the bus stop a little annoyed cause I really needed to take a shower. All of the sudden I realize that I didn't have my bus pass. The bus was supposed to come in like 5 minutes. I ran back to my apartment and was going up the stairs when I tripped again, luckily I didn't fall over. I practically tore my room apart looking for my stupid pass when I heard the bus drive by. By this point I just wanted to crawl back into bed. Thank goodness for divine help, after saying a prayer I found my card and went to wait for the next bus. I showed up to class ten minutes late and of course the only open seat was on the front row. I learned that Prof. Hamblin just went over the requirements for our book report, wow just my luck. During the break I asked my seat buddy to go over what I missed. Luckily that was sorta the end of my bad day.
I have an hour break in between my two classes. Usually I just sit outside. The weather was amazing today and it smelt so good! This instantly made me happy. Getting into New Testament we were talking about the resurrection. The professor asked us why the resurrection even matters. Alex, my seat buddy, yells "so I can make out with my wife" (He isn't married but sure loves to talk about girls). From the lack of sleep I just started laughing my head off. The rest of the class went on with him making random comments and me laughing. Once I got home Shantel, Kleresa, and I headed off to the temple. We were walking up by the fountains when Shantel realized that she didn't have her temple recommend. Kleresa and I sat in the shade just enjoying the beautiful day. (This also helped my day get better). Right before she got back a huge group of young people walked in. Usually I wouldn't care about the long wait, but the Vegas boys were making dinner for us. By the time we got out of the temple we only had ten minutes to get home, change, shower, and get over to the guys' apartment. We were speed walking back to the car when this Mexican lady in jeans with two kids stopped us. I thought she was going to ask us about our faith and the temple. I was wrong, she was LDS and needed to use a cell phone. I gave her mine and started talking to her kids. 5 minutes later she gets off and asks us to do one more favor. She was trying to meet up with some friends at Los Hermanos. Being from out of state she didn't know where to go. We told her that we could take her half way, so we did. I tried to keep a good attitude the whole time. This really helped and I wasn't annoyed that the lady had stopped us.
By the time we got home we were so late. Once again I was scrambling to get ready. I looked and smelled like a dog that jumped into a pool. Mitch made us curry, rice, vegetables, Kool-Aid, and rolls. It was so good! This day made me realize how important it is to keep a good attitude. This certainly made my day way better than it could have been.

I Am No Photographer

For my art class we are going to do self portraits. So of course we needed to take a picture of ourselves. Then we'll print out the picture and make a huge poster size copy of it using any medium we want. While I was home for Memorial weekend mom, amber, and I took about 300 pictures of me. (I'm not exaggerating) None of them were good. I was getting so frustrated. Either the lighting was bad, I was closing my eyes, or I just didn't like it. I finally got this one and liked it. Taking it to my class the next day the teacher took one look and said "This picture is OK, but I want you to do another one. This time I want you to be doing something other than smiling at the camera. Be mysterious. . . have a picture that tells a story". After he said that I felt like crying and punching him in the face. He might be right but I went through a lot to get that picture. Who knows how long the next one will take. . .

Shopping Fun

Amanda, Amber, and I went shopping to Target and the mall. At target we found these funky $10 neon/plastic rain coats. Amanda and I laughed our heads off. . . we just had to try them on. Amanda and I picked out a lot of cute clothes for Amber. Going to the check out counter the lady rang up the total and it was about $1oo! Amber sure is expensive. . . mom about had a heart attack.

Primary

On Sunday Clint and I got to sub in primary. We got the 4/5 year olds. The kids that usually cry when they leave their moms didn't cry. We totally rocked! We did singing and a lesson. They were so good the whole time. When we got into the classroom was when things got crazy. All the girls said they had to go to the bathroom at the same time, one boy was lifting up another girls dress, two cute little girls were fighting about who could sit on my lap, while I was teaching. Clint just sat there laughing at all the comments the kids made. It was interesting to try to make the girls take turns on my lap. They both loved playing with my hands, arms, and my new dress. One tapped my face and whispers "are you married?" I guess having a CTR ring on my left hand really confuses little kids. I finished with the lesson and we had 20 minutes left. One little girl suggested the jumping game (who can jump the most without stopping). . . it was actually pretty fun.

Bowling and King Kong Kones

Today we went bowling to Country Town & Lanes. Scott had one of the high scores on team 1.
Amber and dad
Clint and Miriam . . . who knows what they were looking at

Yeah we are weird

Mom and Amanda
Clint, Miriam and I

I didn't know dad had my camera
The King Kong Kone was on sale, 2 for $1 at Macey's. Grant and Amber were the only ones that could finish one. The lady who worked behind the counter turned away and Miriam goes "her name is large?! thats a terrible name" (the lady was kinda big). Then I was like "no her name is Lanae" We all couldn't stop laughing for about ten minutes.

This was a sign that Clint and I laughed our heads off. Only in Utah would you find that. (Blake I blame this on you. I would never have thought anything of it before. . . )

Fashion Advice

I was doing laundry and really wanted to wash my jeans. I didn't have any other pair so I borrowed some from Miriam. When I was walking away she yells "they are skinny jeans!" Ughh! I hate skinny jeans but I had no choice so I put them on. I was putting in the wash when Amber comes up to me and looks at my skinny jean legs and goes, "Camille, if you ever get fat. . . . you probably wont get fat though. . . but if you do, don't ever wear skinny jeans. People try to wear them to make themselves look skinny. It never works they look fat instead". Hahaha that kid makes me laugh. Good thing I have her around to give me fashion advice.

More Lagoon!

My dad has some crazy things planned for my family to do this Memorial weekend. Today we went to Lagoon. Today at Lagoon was the D.A.R.E. day. So there were 100's of little 6th graders everywhere. Scott saw this car and fell in love with it.
Amanda and dad on the white rollar coaster
Scott on the white roller coaster
My cute family!

Here is Scott on Music Express. . . his giggle is awesome.

Me and Amanda on the Jumping Dragon. The ride operators watched us take this picture. They were very entertained.
The two studs (my ride buddies) my brother Grant and his friend Tanner on the Jumping Dragon.
My first time on the Jumping Dragon! All the extra "fluff" they added to this ride was amazing
Poor Scott was just exhausted after our long day. Lucky for him Grant let him use his shoulder as a pillow.

Babysitting

Today I got to babysit Scott. We went to get into the car but it wouldn't start. Luckily Keith came to our rescue. We got to the museum and it wouldn't open for another hour. To pass the time we went down to the stream and floated leaf boats, chased ducks, and rolled down hills. We still had a half an hour to go so we went to the bell tower. After that we headed to the Wilk to get a Jamba Juice. After that it was time to go to the Bean Museum.

Going up to the 2ND level of the museum were all sorts of fish. Scott saw one at the top of the stairs and goes "Camille, look! It's a hammer head shark!" I was so shocked that he knew that. I asked him how he was so smart and he goes "Miss Sue (his preschool teacher) has a shark like that". The rest of the day we spent swimming. he is a good little swimmer, he loved to float like a dead fish. It scared some of the other people in the pool. We then watched 3 Ninjas with Tasi until mom came to get Scott.

Men

Saturday I had to go take my first New Testament test. I was sitting at the bus stop reading over my notes. All of the sudden a car went by and this man honked at me. Why do guys think they can honk at girls? Do they think its a compliment? No, it isn't! I do not want to be an object that they can honk at! It is degrading and not nice. If they want a girl they should say hi or make a nice compliment.

Bomb Squad

Tonight Kleresa, Shantel, and I were invited by their cousin Brittney to go bowling. We drove to Sandy and got inside to find four boys with Britt. We split up into teams and the boys gave us names. I was bomb squad (I was supposed to blow away the pins) Kleresa got Man Killer. I got the third place on my team, which was surprising for my bad aim. For the next game we got a teammate and they would bowl the first ball and the other teammate would do the second. Ethan and I got paired up and he was amazing! Five strikes in a row! I felt bad I didn't do as well as him, but he was good luck for me I got two strikes! Since it was a Saturday night, the lights were turned off and disco balls, lasers, fog machines and black lights were everywhere. The guys got a little carried away and made us do a dance every time we got a strike or a spare. They even got the D.J. to play thriller and they danced to that. It was way fun! (Better pictures will come later, I hope)

Art Supplies

My dad gave me his credit card so I could go to the bookstore and buy art supplies for my class. I get to the lower level and I'm completely overwhelmed by the amount of art supplies. In ten minutes I found only one of the pens that I needed. I asked the guy at the desk if he could help, but since he was at the cash register he couldn't leave. He was no help at all. Two minutes later a girl come over grabbed my list, got me a basket and in 12 minutes I had all the stuff. I get up to the same guy at the check out counter and he gives me the total and says, "art is expensive" I just ignored him and handed him the card. He looks at it and then goes, "Do you have a card with YOUR name on it?" I said no, it was my dad's. He then went on about how he was sorry but couldn't do that. I asked him to hold the stuff and I would run to my apartment and get my card. He said "well hurry back I'll be off at five". That kinda creeped me out. Once back to the apartment I couldn't find my wallet. I had left it at my parents house. . . I guess in a way its good. I don't have to go back and deal with that man.

Mother's Day at Church

Today the bishop had all the women 18 years and older stand up at the end of sacrament to get a Mother's Day gift. I didn't want to, I felt really weird. My mom made me stand up and I'm glad too! The men came out with chocolate covered pretzels! They were so so good. I was a good girl and waited until I was walking home to open it. I was trying to get the bow off when a lady asked, "oh did you steal that from your mom?" I didn't know whether I should be offended or what. I told her that I was 19 so they gave me one too. She laughed and then went to find her family. Another lady who sat in front of us turned around when Miriam exclaimed "you are turning 21 next year!?" The lady somehow thought I was pregnant and asked, "oh is this your first mother's day?" Wow. . . and I thought the singles ward was weird!

Shantel

I recently went home with Shantel . . . we went out into the backyard where she jumped on the lawn mower and went for a ride. The look on her face says it all.

Grant's Soccer

Grant is actually really good at soccer. Today he played defense. (He is the biggest one on his team). Once he gets the ball everybody else just stops, very intimidated. . . it was awesome.

Amber's Soccer

Amber's team had their first loss today. During the game she got hit in the head with the ball, which she couldn't remember. She is really fast and good at dribbling the ball down the field.

Amber's Birthday

Amber told me that I never wrote anything about her birthday on my blog. So just for her I'll do it. She didn't have any school on her birthday so I took her down to Provo with me. We ate cookies, got my books, visited a museum, and played slap jack (she is amazing at it). The rest of the family met up with us to hike the Y. After that we got Brick Oven for dinner and ate it in the park. The family had to get back so Amber opened her presents in the car ride to my apartment. She got a bunch of cool stuff.

Temple Night

Shantel, Kleresa, Ashley and I love going to the Provo Temple, it is so pretty! We always say how pretty it is outside when we leave, so I finally decided to get some pictures done. . .
