I Feel Loved!

This little guy is named Spartacus.
He is a happy plant. I have had him for almost a year and a half.

These are my other men:
You can't see them very well but they are there. . . Mr. Witherspoon and Barbagartian.

What do these three men have in common?

They all love me!

Why?

I forget to feed them a lot.
Never on purpose though.
Yet they still love me and stay alive for me.

Battle Creek!

My ward got up early and headed over to Battle Creek Trail.
They are very silly people!

It all went very well. . . . until the last 30 ft.

Shantel stepped on a rock wrong and went flying. In the parking lot she lifted up her pants and blood was dripping down her leg! All of the men grabbed their first aid kits and went to work! She was so brave and didn't cry.
Then we went to D.Q. and got some blizzards!

Well That's a First. . .

I was about to go to bed when I realized. . . .
I never blogged about my first passing out experience!!

How could I not share this with the 5 faithful people reading my blog??!!
How silly of me!

Well I love giving blood! It is a good thing too. . . especially because of the annoying Red Cross people that hunt you down until you agree to give them your blood.

I feel like a productive member of society when I donate.

It saves lives! It makes me feel good. . . .anyway

I took Shantel and we went to the nearest donor center. She didn't have enough iron so she went and sat down.
I was pumping that little ball that they give you when. . . .
RCL (red cross lady): What are you doing after you finish up here?
Me: Well I was going to go swimming, but now I can't
RCL: Well its hot outside. If you don't do any laps and just relax, you can go swim.
Me: Awesome!

She wrapped my arm up and I grabbed a few snacks. I hurried out to my car because Shantel was waiting.

As soon as I got home. . . . I changed and then Jonathan and I went out to the pool.
After we were done. . . I hurried back to my apartment and jumped into the shower. I was shampooing my hair when I thought "Oh man! I don't feel good! I need to get down"
Then I half fell/ half sat down in the shower.

The next thing I remember was opening my eyes and the water hitting me in the face.
I was disoriented and my vision was a little out of focus.

I passed out! For the first time ever! Exciting. Now I never want to do it again.

OH. . . Precious!

This is Jonathan. . . .
He claims he doesn't have good pictures. . . and that he doesn't like his picture being taken.

I disagree. . .

he likes it!!

I like taking pictures of him
We went to T*J Maxx to return one of his shirts. The line for the checkout was long. . . so we tried on sunglasses. (He let me take a couple of pictures. . . isn't that sweet!?)

Boys & Guns

I really never understood why guys like to shoot things. . .

With that said. . . Jonathan invited me to go shooting with some of his buddies. I thought "sure, why not" so we went.

This tall guy on the left. . . well he is going to be the quarter back for BYU this season. . .
I felt famous hanging out with him. . . hehehehe
Me + four guys + guns = entertainment

I actually shot a couple of times (I never once hit the clay thingy). More than anything I think they made me shoot so they could laugh at me. I couldn't even hold the gun up for very long. Those things are heavy! They are also loud and have quite a kick.

And in the End. . . .

And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

Jonathan's birthday was on the 18th . . . so I decided to kidnap him and take him downtown!

His first Trax ride ever!!

Our first stop was the beehive house! We were chatting with the sister missionaries when:
Jonathan: (made some joke)
Me: Don't believe him. . . he is joking
SM (sister missionary): Are you two cousins?
Me: (in my head) Err? What? Really?
SM: Well you two just joke around like you are cousins. . .

After completing the tour we walked over to the Cathedral of the Madeleine

Then we caught Trax and headed up into U of U territory for The Pie Pizzeria!!

Our pizza was so so amazing!
I wanted to take Jonathan to the library roof and walk down to the bottom. . . . but it was closed.
Sad day

So we sat and enjoyed the outside of the library

Then of course we had to visit Temple Square

I had never actually been on the actual temple ground. (you know where you can go in and actually touch the temple and walk up the stairs) I was excited so Jonathan and I strolled around, touched, and admired the temple.

(Poor birthday boy had to carry the leftover pizza around)

The infamous tree

After Temple Square we walked around the Gateway Mall!

Jonathan was a very good sport and let me drag him all over Salt Lake. I think the most funny thing of the evening was . . .
We were sitting at the Trax station waiting for the train to come take us home. All of the sudden a homeless man rolled up his wheelchair. . . "it is almost 9 0'clock" he told us

Jonathan and I paused waiting for the rest of his story. Hearing none we looked at the clock. It read 8:56. We looked back and the man was rolling away.
I didn't know what he meant. Nothing happened at 9 o'clock. . . . not even a train approached the station. . . weird!

Isn't Life Funny?

Growing up. . . if something bad happened to me. . . . I never questioned why. Life happens and I move on.
Once I got to college I have had to make sure I didn't ask myself why.

One day I was talking to a friend:
D: Do you know how life just goes really bad for a while, then you can just feel something good is going to happen to you?

I think this is like the "why" stage. You ask yourself and God why things are happening to you. Then all of the sudden something clicks and life starts going really good. It is now the "Yes, life is good" stage.

Well people. . . I was in the "why" stage of life. . .
But a little while ago I am in the
"Yes, life is good" stage. . . . and oh it is so so good!

Have You. . .

Have you ever had one of those days. . . .
where you tell yourself this. . . .
You just have to keep getting through the day so it WILL be better in the morning.
I had one of those days (I hate being a girl sometimes) but it was actually a really good day. I just felt like crying. . . . I wanted to curl up into bed and just cry. Ugh! For no reason.
So I told myself "it will be ok in the morning" then I couldn't wait to fall asleep.

Cleaning Checks 2!

Well the cleaning people were taking a very, very long time to get to our apt. and I needed to shower really, really badly . . . . so I decided to jump into the shower really quickly.

I said to my roommate "watch, now that I'm getting into the shower they will come".

I jumped into the shower. . . oh my heavens it was wonderful! Well right after I wrapped my towel around myself the bathroom door swings open and there stands the cleaning check lady. AWKWARD! (but just in time!)

Poor thing was more embarrassed than I was! Haha! She did not really look at our apartment after that . . . she left very quickly.

I think I have just discovered the trick to cleaning checks!

(We all passed!)

Cleaning Checks!

I hate cleaning checks. Although, I love it that the apartment gets a good scrub . . . . but we are a bunch of girls. . . we clean weekly! Our apartment is clean!

Unlike the boys. . . . when you first walk in their apt. . . . a stale, nasty stench hits you and then you just want to leave.

Well I started cleaning checks at midnight and did not get done until 4. . . .
My hands are hurting. They are so dry and raw (I don't wear gloves when I clean). . . .
I look and smell horrible. . . .
I only got about 3 hours of sleep. . . .

Why would I be so silly and wait until the last minute to clean?? . . . .
one word:

BOY!

Need I say more?
