It's Done!

So Amber, Blake and I started this puzzle back over Christmas break, and we just barely finished it today! We are so happy to be done with it, it was very hard. We lost about nine pieces but it still looks pretty good.

Blake is Determined to Burn Down My Kitchen 2

A week or so ago Blake and I made some yummy chocolate brownies. Blake was hungry so I offered him some but told him to put it in the microwave because they were hard. The poor brownie was put in for 20 seconds, and it was still hard. Blake added more time and we both got distracted talking. All of the sudden I looked over and all this smoke was coming from the brownie. I told Blake that his brownie was smoking and he quickly stopped the time. Part of the brownie had started on fire and the whole apartment smelt bad and there was quite a bit of smoke for such a small dessert. This helped me make the decision that Blake was sooner or later going to burn down my kitchen.

Blake is Determined to Burn Down My Kitchen

I was too lazy to type so this is Blake's version of what happened: So yeah I was making dinner with Camille at her apartment when she realized that we didn't have all the ingredients we needed. She ran to the store but I decided to stay and watch the boiling water just to be safe. So as I was watching water boil I got bored and went to get a glass of water. As I stood there drinking my water I noticed that the pot looked orange. When I lifted the pot to investigate I found that the entire burner was in flames. I gave the flame a puff of air hoping to extinguish the small fire. Unfortunately for me my plan failed and the end result was an even larger flame. AH! So thinking quickly, but not clearly, I threw my glass of water at the flame. (In hind sight this was a bad idea, water does not put out grease fires it makes them spread). Luckily for me my plan worked, the water put out the flame and I managed not to burn down an entire apartment complex despite my best efforts. Unfortunately the entire apartment was full of smoke so I started opening doors and windows. Just my luck Camille's roommate came home just then, and there I am in their apartment now so filled with smoke that it made the lights seem dim. Their only comment was to complain that since I opened the door their gas bill would be higher...

BYU Men

One day I was at the bus stop trying to get home. The bus ended up being 34 minutes late. The weather was terrible and I had a light coat on so I was freezing. During that time I was entertained by a fellow student. A tall, large, and older interesting looking man kept walking up to me and in the last second he would turn away. Finally he started talking to me. He made weird jokes that I politely laughed at, comments about the weather, where he was from and so on. Between each time he made a comment there would be a very long awkward pause. Finally I couldn't take it anymore so I texted Blake to call me, so I could get out of that weird situation. He called and the guy drifted away looking rather offended. I thought that was the end of that when he got on my bus too. I sat in the isle seat so he wouldn't be able to sit by me, again he looked offended. This wasn't my only time running into him. I was at the BYU bookstore getting my winter semester books when I made eye contact with him across the room. He glared at me for a minute and then walked away.

You Should Really Talk to Your Parents About That

Miriam was sitting in the living room and all of the sudden Amber appeared. Miriam startled asks, “Where did you come from?” Amber without missing a beat replied, “You should really talk to your parents about that.”

Back Scratching Man

The first week I was down here at BYU I went to a devotional with Shantel and her sisters and my roommates. We got there late and had to sit on the benches at the very top of the Marriot Center. A group of guys were sitting in front of us and they happened to be very cute, well from the back at least. Half way through the speakers I got this "urge" to start scratching the guy's back that was sitting in front of me. I shook it off thinking that would be weird. The feeling kept coming back several times. Finally I turned to Janelle and asked her what I should do. She said I was crazy and shouldn't do it. So I turned to Shantel and told her what was going on. Jokingly she said, "well maybe its a prompting and a test to see if you listen to the Holy Ghost". Not knowing she was joking, I totally freaked out I didn't want to ignore him. So gathering my guts I totally went for it and started scratching this guys back. He jumped and turned his head to the side and I asked him if he minded. He said "no, go for it". So this is what I did for about the next 45 minutes. The whole time all the girls I came with just looked at me like I was insane. After the closing prayer, the whole situation dawned on me. I felt like a total idiot for touching some random guy. He turned around and I was so embarrassed. We made some awkward conversation for a little bit and I guess he sensed I wasn't interested so he left. Ashley came up to me afterwards and asked me why I would barely look at the guy, he looked very interested. So for all that hard work I ended up without a date/phone number and just got an interesting story instead.

Water Fights

Somehow every time Blake or I are trying to do dishes we end up in a water fight. One time we were at his apartment and we got into a big one. Blake ran back into his room, hiding from my cup of water. Since I couldn't go back there I decided to go outside. (don't ask me why) so I was out leaning against the door when all of the sudden I hear Blake doing dishes. I decided that I would be tricky and ran inside and was about to throw my cup of water when whoosh! I landed flat on my back, due to all the water on the floor. Blake started laughing hysterically, and I wanted to crawl into a hole and die. From that day I learned that water fights are best to do outside.

Bus Stories!

*I ride the bus to school everyday and there are a lot of interesting people that get on it. Shantel and I rode it every Tuesday and Thursday to get to math. Well one day there was this scary looking man on it who was sitting right across from us. He pulled out a tin of mints and couldn't get it opened. He pulled out a pen and tried to pry the lid off and ended up breaking the pen in half. One half went flying and hit this girl in the head, she looked mortified. Shantel and I were trying not to laugh. Then all of the sudden he goes, "I would use my knife but i'm not allowed to carry one." He said that with a smile and then looked directly at us. I'm surprised we made it off without laughing or dying.
